Part-time Immediate startMornington Peninsula location We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant based at our Senior Campus in Langwarrin South.The Learning Support Assistant is responsible for providing support to students with learning difficulties by implementing direct instruction withdrawal lessons under the guidance of the Individualized Learning Teachers at Senior Campus.  The Educational Support Assistant will ensure that the student is fully included in learning and will be responsible for working closely with the class-teacher to help facilitate their learning. This is a part-time position with an FTE of 0.80.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Working with students with identified learning needs and helping teachers with the delivery of Learning Strategies in conjunction with the Pathways Facilitator.Delivering daily direct instruction lessons (MacLit) to students with learning difficulties. Working as part of a team to ensure that the well-being, behaviour and personal development of students enhances learning opportunities and life skills.Assisting with classroom programs as required, particularly in the development of students’ learning program, under the supervision of the classroom teacher.Providing in-class support including:Helping students in the classroom with classroom workHelping the teacher with administration regarding these students of concern in this class as directed by class teacher or Pathways FacilitatorProviding thorough written feedback to the Director of Inclusion of assistance provided (what, when and to whom) during in-class support Experience and SkillsMust be able to demonstrate:Experience working with children in secondary school, previously as a Teacher Aide.An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.Strong interest in Literacy support.Delivery of Direct Instruction Literacy programs such as MuliLit or Corrective Reading.Minimum qualification of a Certificate of Education Support - Integration Aide/Teacher Aide or a Certificate III in Education Support.Familiarity with some targeted intervention strategies and learning programs.A strong sense of empathy and a warm and welcoming disposition.  Conditions of EmploymentA Working With Children's Check is required for this positionQualification and First Aid/Anaphylaxis is required for this position For further information about this role, please contact Emma Hall (Director of Personalised Learning) ehall@woodleigh.vic.edu.auFurther information about Woodleigh can be found here.Applications must be made online by 5pm Friday 8 July 2022.Woodleigh School is an equal opportunity employer.
