The position is part time and fixed term for 12 months. This is a technician position supporting the Visual Arts Learning Area. The role primarily focuses on the needs of and provides support to Woodleigh School teachers and students in the Visual Arts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide classroom support for Visual Arts teaching staff as directed by Head of Visual Arts (including set-up, in class and pack-up).Maintain Visual Arts Department resources at appropriate levels in an organised and easily accessible manner, ensuring all stocks correctly labelledAssistance with the stocktake of materials and equipment Prepare orders and quotes of materials and equipmentAssist the Visual Arts teaching staff in the creation, maintenance and documentation of student work/exhibitions both for the Messenger; the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Gallery; and school publicationsAssist in ensuring the Visual Arts Department classrooms and courtyard are neat and presentableDocument and report on maintenance requirements of Visual Arts Department equipment and spacesBe aware of and comply with OHS regulations, standards and codes of practice relating to department resources. Maintain Safety Data Sheets and chemical registersActive assistance with Arts events and afterschool activitiesParticipate in Visual Arts Department meetings, when required.Undertake other duties as required and which are relevant to the position, as directed by the Head of Visual Arts / Learning Area Leader and comply with Woodleigh policies and procedures, as amended from time to time Selection Criteria:Essential:Relevant qualifications to machine operationExperience following OH&S procedures and protocolsAn understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with childrenExperience working with childrenExcellent communication skillsWell organised with the ability to prioritiseA positive attitude and willingness to learn Completion of VCE Conditions of EmploymentA Working with Children Check is required for this position.Qualification and First Aid Training confirmation is required for this position.
